Description.

A small to medium close suckering rosette up to 60 cm tall. Leaves broad short, gray prominent brown terminal spines. Differs from typical parryi with larger leaves up to 50 x 20cm and being more robust

Its natural habitat is oak woodlands on open slopes between 1,550 and 2,150 m elevation. It also occurs in the higher pine forest zones. and extends into Sonora south to the Sierra Huachinera.
