Agave Parrasana x Potatorum 2020.

Agave Parrasana x Potatorum 2022.

Description.
One of my own hybrids that was produced by applying agave potatorum pollen to an agave parrasana flower that emerged one year after the main flower spike. The pollen was collected by a friend onto cotton wool and given to me the following day. The pollen was used immediately and not stored.
Agave Parrasana (host plant).
Photographed the year following the main flower spike.

The Parrasana Gallery has images of this host plant starting with the first signs of the emerging flower spike through to flowers and seed pods. It is a compact form of parrasana that a freely offsets.
Agave Potatorum Kichiokan (pollen donor).
Photographed a few years before flowering.

The owner of this plant had it labelled up as guadalajarana but the current consensus is that it is more likely to be potatorum or kichiokan. Notice the corkscrew like terminal spines that is typical of some potatorum.
