
Description.
Rather vigorous, subcaulescent, freely suckering, open, variable rosettes 0.7 to 1 m in height, 1 to 1.5 m spread. Leaves 50 to 80 cm long, 4 to 6 cm wide, polymorphic, green to yellow-green, stiffly ascending, thickly convex below, concave above, straight or falcate or sinuous, margins light gray, firm or detachable, straight or undulate. Teeth variable, generally 5 to 10 mm long and 2 to 3 cm apart, dark brown to gray, rarely double, sometimes with smaller interstitial teeth, or reduced or entirely lacking. Stout dark brown to gray spine 1.5 to 3 cm long, conic-subulate, with a short open groove above.
Its natural habitat is on coarse lime-rocky soils. Location Sierra Madre Oriental in San Luis Potosi and Hidalgo, between elevations of 1500 and 1800 m.
Agave difformis is characterized by it's polymorphic long sword shaped leaves.
